EXPERTISE: Working with small to medium size non-profits to build infrastructure and efficiency. Organizational assessments to determine capacity and help smaller nonprofits with controlled growth. Creation of necessary nonprofit framework including: policy and procedures formulation, job descriptions and staffing structure, hiring assistance and staff training, financial protocols, board relations and mentoring for new Executive Directors. Assistance for local member agencies or affiliates in the navigation of parent National and State nonprofit system to stay in compliance. Grant writing and Special Event expertise and assistance.
Prior to joining Susan G. Komen for the Cure, NC Triad Affiliate, as their first Executive Director, Anna served as the Executive Director of Smart Start of Davie County and United Way of Davie County. She has also served as the Director of Development for Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest, NC and Branch Manager/Director of Disaster Services for the American Red Cross. In her role as Executive Director of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, NC Triad Affiliate, Anna serves on the North Carolina State Public Policy Collaborative.
For 10 years, Anna was employed by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in two positions, her last as Deputy Chief, Office of Financial Management where she attended briefings and high level meetings at the Pentagon dealing with base financial activities, counselling staff and overseeing budgets.
Prior to acting as the Deputy Chief with the CIA, Anna acted as the Security Supervisor, Office of Security where she competed and accomplished securing a position on an elite team that traveled with the Director and Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, travelling to both foreign and domestic locations dealing daily with diplomatic issues and high level officials. During this time, Anna was promoted to the rank of sergeant in the Federal Police Force, achieved the level of Sharp Shooter in marksmanship, and was chosen as a specialist for a one month assignment overseas.
Anna graduated from William Woods University with a B.A, degree and is also a graduate of Duke University’s Nonprofit Management Program and Leadership Winston-Salem.
